Mac app. Local models. Explicit approvals.
A minimal native macOS coding assistant for local project folders. Ask questions, request edits, review diffs, and keep model work on your machine.

Use Ask for repository questions. Use Edit when you want proposed changes or shell commands.
Edits appear as diffs and commands appear for review before anything is applied.
Local AI runtime
PatchQuill can use an existing Ollama server or set up a managed local runtime. Normal chat use stays local once the runtime and model are installed.
Model requests go through your local Ollama runtime, not a hosted AI service controlled by us.
Reads and writes resolve inside the selected folder and skip generated or large binary paths.
File replacements and commands are blocked until the user approves them.
No accounts, workspaces, plugins, MCP servers, or complex settings in v1.
Launch pricing
The recommended v1 pricing is a simple one-time license. No cloud AI costs, no subscription, and no account required for normal local use after download.
Version 1.0.0
The public release is distributed directly as a notarized Mac download. The Mac App Store build is planned later after the sandbox and managed local runtime path are reviewed.
