App privacy

PatchQuill is designed as a local-first macOS app. It works with project folders selected by the user and uses a local Ollama runtime at 127.0.0.1:11434.

PatchQuill does not intentionally upload project contents, chat messages, or edit proposals to Tryfta servers in v1.

Local storage

PatchQuill stores app state under:

~/Library/Application Support/PatchQuill/

This may include project references, chats, edit backups, managed Ollama runtime files, downloaded local models, logs, and diagnostics exports created by the user.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics exports are local files created only when requested. They include app/runtime status, installed model names, storage sizes, and recent runtime logs. They are designed not to include project file contents.

Network access

PatchQuill may use network access to download the managed Ollama runtime, download model files, check local Ollama endpoints, open update/download links, and access product/legal pages.

Payments

If PatchQuill is sold through a merchant of record, checkout, tax calculation, invoices, and payment data are handled by that payment provider. PatchQuill receives limited order/license status information needed to deliver the product.

Website

The website may be hosted behind CDN or hosting providers that process standard technical data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and timestamps for security and delivery.

User choices

Users can remove project references from the app, delete local models, reset the managed runtime, and remove local app data from ~/Library/Application Support/PatchQuill/.
